Description
Qarateren is a beautiful lake and a new ethno-tourism complex in the Takhtakupyr district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan (Uzbekistan), about a four-hour drive from Nukus. The main draw of this place is the chance to stay in traditional yurts, enjoy nature, and get close to local culture.
Opened at the end of 2024, the complex sits on the shore of Lake Qarateren and offers a unique retreat of 16 yurts. Beyond accommodation, there are concert venues and recreation areas that reflect the friendship between the peoples of the region. The project blends modern architecture with rich cultural heritage.
